    Apa Copper Water Cup

    Inspired by Ancient Tradition

“Apa” means water in Ayurvedic tradition — a reminder that hydration is more than routine. It’s ritual.

The Apa Copper Water Cup was inspired by the long-standing practice of storing and drinking water from copper vessels — a tradition valued for generations.

Simple in form. Intentional in use. Built to last.

    Available in Two Sizes

    • 12 oz – 3.5” tall, 3.6” mouth width

    • 18 oz – 4.25” tall, 4” mouth width

Choose the size that fits your daily rhythm — bedside, kitchen, or table.

    Why Copper?

Copper has long been appreciated for its natural antimicrobial surface properties (often referred to as the oligodynamic effect) and its historic use in water storage.

In Ayurvedic philosophy, storing water in copper vessels is believed to support balance and overall wellness.

Whether you’re drawn to tradition, craftsmanship, or aesthetic — drinking from copper feels intentional.

    Care Instructions
    • Wash with mild soap and warm water after each use.
    • Dry immediately with a soft cloth to help prevent water spotting.
    • Water spots can occur due to natural trace minerals found in tap water.
    • Over time, copper may develop a soft matte patina — a natural finish many people appreciate.
    • If you prefer the original bright shine, it can be easily restored with a quick copper polish.
    • Copper is designed to age beautifully — maintain the shine or embrace the patina.

What Makes Sertodo Special To Us

Sertodo Copper was founded by Jonathan Beall, whose journey began in 1997 selling handcrafted copper throughout the United States from the back of his truck, affectionately named El Macho. His path led him to Santa Clara del Cobre in the Sierra Madre Occidental of Michoacán, where he apprenticed for two years under Maestro Maximo and Maestro Chema, learning a copper-working tradition that spans more than 1,000 years.

After completing his apprenticeship, Jonathan partnered with Maximo’s eldest son, Martin, to build a workshop rooted in respect for craft, family, and heritage. What started as a simple dirt-floor, two-person space has grown into a thriving copper studio — but the commitment to traditional craftsmanship, integrity, and community remains unchanged.

We love Sertodo because it represents true artisan lineage: heritage techniques preserved through apprenticeship, relationships built on trust, and copperware made with purpose and pride — exactly the kind of story and substance that belongs at My American Goods.

    Sertodo FAQs

    What products does Sertodo offer?

Sertodo makes hand-forged copperware and kitchen tools, including copper pots and pans, hammers, charcuterie tools, chef accessories, and durable cookware essentials.

Are Sertodo products made in the USA?

Sertodo copper goods are designed and finished in Austin, Texas, and handcrafted by skilled artisans in both the USA and Mexico using traditional copperworking techniques.

This approach allows Sertodo to preserve centuries-old craftsmanship while maintaining the quality and design standards rooted in their Texas-based operation.

Every piece is made from 100% recycled copper and crafted in small batches for lasting durability and character.

    Why cook with copper?

Copper provides superior heat conductivity and precise temperature control, making it ideal for professional chefs and serious home cooks.

    Is Sertodo cookware lined?

Many Sertodo cookware pieces are tin-lined for safe cooking performance, while some items are pure copper for bar or decorative use. Always follow product specifications.

How do I care for copper cookware?

Hand wash only. To maintain shine, polish occasionally. Natural patina over time is normal and does not affect performance.

Is Sertodo copperware good for gifting?

Yes — Sertodo pieces are heirloom-quality gifts for weddings, housewarmings, chefs, and cocktail enthusiasts who value craftsmanship and longevity.
